Student Newsletter (submit here)
The LHXCS newsletter is a great way to encourage Chinese school students to utilize their knowledge of Chinese vocabulary and phrases! Students in each age group will engage in a competition to write something that demonstrates their Chinese skills. The types of content that will be accepted are short stories, poems, and nursery rhymes or a short verse of a song that the student makes up. Students of all age groups may submit a piece each month that correlates with the theme of that month. Winners will be nominated as Students of the Month, and at the end of the year, students can be nominated as Student of the Year! Themes are outlined below:
  • December: Write a story/poem/song in Chinese about the spirit of the holidays (e.g. favorite activities, the weather, favorite baked goods, etc)
  • January: Write a story/poem/song in Chinese about your thoughts on New Year’s resolutions (e.g. Do you like them? Are they effective? Would you recommend people continue to do them? etc)

Social Media Promotion
Social media helps with getting the word about our events out! You will help manage our social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, etc), create content related to LHXCS/Chinese language and culture, and communicate through these platforms. This is a great way to get involved with LHXCS SVC if you're interested in social media marketing or are a creative who loves designing/writing content! We are also helping to promote the 2021 Livingston Chinese Culture Day, which will be held virtually in February.

CSL TA (school calendar here)
The CSL classes are looking for student volunteers to grade homework (up to 2 people), help the students with homework during the week (up to 3 people), or help out students during class on Saturdays (up to 2 people).  We ask that you can communicate on Wechat so we can talk directly to the teachers. This is a good chance to gain experience tutoring and working with younger students while communicating with teachers! We all greatly appreciate your help.
